Town of Coaldale Launches Phase 2 of Its Coaldale STRONG! Capital Campaign

Date

Phase 2 will focus on generating revenue by selling facility naming rights for the Town’s new recreation center.

The Town of Coaldale has officially launched the second and final phase of its Coaldale STRONG! Capital Campaign.

In September 2021, the Town launched phase 1 of its Coaldale STRONG Capital Campaign in an effort to generate $1 million in philanthropic support for Coaldale’s new multi-use recreation center. Since then, the Town has received nearly $1.5 million in donations, pledges, and sponsorships, moving the fundraising goal post to $2 million and making phase 1 a resounding success. “Fundraising appeals for projects like this one are only successful if the community agrees with the project,” said Town of Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn. “Clearly, our community agrees that building a rec center is a worthwhile endeavor. With the support of everyone who donated to phase 1 of this campaign, our community members can rest assured that the rec center will be able to offer full-programming upon opening in spring, 2024.”

With the philanthropic portion of the campaign winding down, phase 2 of the campaign – which will focus instead on selling facility naming rights – is now officially underway. On February 28, 2023, the Town posted a ‘Request for Expressions of Interest’ (RFEI) for facility naming rights on its website. This RFEI offers the opportunity for a major sponsor to secure naming rights for the 55,000 square foot state-of-the-art building and, in so doing, partner with the Town to make Coaldale a preferred place to live, work, and play.
