Lisa Reis was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. Her family immigrated here from Guyana, South America, in 1981. Lisa is the youngest of 5 and was the only child born in Canada amongst her two brothers and two sisters. Lisa moved to Coaldale in 2005 and very quickly began to love calling this wonderful place home. She admired the welcoming feeling where your neighbors are your friends and saw how that neighbourly feeling extended to every corner of the community and even began to admire all the little quirks of a small town.
Lisa is very passionate when she commits herself to any endeavor and will see it through till the end, regardless of the outcome. Whether positive or negative, she finds a way to use not only the conclusion, but the knowledge gained from the experience as a learning tool moving forward. Honesty, integrity, reliability and faith are core believes for Lisa and are deep-rooted in who she is as a person.
One of Lisa’s strongest qualities is the ability to be mindful of how her decisions or actions could impact those around her. As an elected member of Council, this would be beneficial to both sides – the discussions with fellow members of Council – but also – as to what the residents have been saying their concerns, wants or needs are within our community. She is reasonable, fair, will strive for the best possible outcome for all citizens and find reasonable & suitable compromises where and when necessary. She is true to her word, stands strong behind her beliefs and is dedicated to working on restoring and maintaining trust, communication and transparency for the residents of Coaldale.
Lisa enjoys volunteering her time with many organizations having to do with animals such as the CNIB Guide Dogs for the blind or visually impaired and the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Project.
Lisa is thrilled to be a part of this journey, representing the citizens of Coaldale for the next four years. As someone who truly cares for Coaldale, its residents and its future, she looks forward to not only being on Council, but volunteering and providing a constant presence at community events.
