Coaldale Town Council Continues 2022 Budget Deliberations

Date

Budget deliberations will continue at the December 20, 2021 Special Council meeting

--

Coaldale Town Council is currently undergoing budget deliberations for 2022.

During budget deliberations, Council has been reviewing presentations and requests from all the town’s departments. These requests combined with the existing expenses will make up the capital and operating budget. Once approved, these budgets will establish the operating and capital projects for 2022, as well the potential impact this will have on municipal tax and utility rates within the Town of Coaldale.

“Town Council is carefully assessing the information presented to us and evaluating the draft capital and operating budget,” said Coaldale Major Jack Van Rijn. “We are focused on continuing to deliver exceptional services to our residents and businesses while managing our expenses responsibly.”

Town Council will continue budget deliberations on the December 20, 2021 special council meeting. Under the Municipal Government Act, Council must pass a 3-year operating plan and a 5-year capital plan before the end of the year. This can either be done through the approval of a final or interim budget before the end of the year.

More information will be released in January 2022. To view the livestream videos of the budget discussions or review meeting agenda information, visit coaldale.ca/towncouncil.
