Coaldale Town Council Provides Tax Relief to Continue Supporting Pandemic Recovery

Late tax payment penalties deferred second year in a row to ease cashflow burdens

Following the April 26, 2021 Regular Council Meeting, Coaldale Town Council passed additional measures to ease financial stress on residents and local businesses from the ensuing pandemic. Recognizing the challenging financial position many are still faced with, Council is waiving late tax payment penalties for a 3-month period.

The due date for property tax payments is June 30th, 2021; however, late penalty fees have been eliminated up to September 30th, 2021.

“While many may feel somewhat adjusted to the pandemic, it’s important for us to recognize the financial impact our families and businesses may still be experiencing,” said Coaldale Mayor Kim Craig. “These continued measures are intended to support the economic health and recovery of our community and we encourage anyone who might need a helping hand to take advantage of them. Council is more than willing to continue helping out where we can as we ride out what are hopefully the final few months of the pandemic.”
