The soft opening of the brand-new, state-of-the-art recreation facility will take place on Monday, June 17.
--
On Thursday, May 30, the Town of Coaldale announced a soft opening for the Shift Community Recreation Centre.
The soft opening will take place on Monday, June 17, and provide members of the public with an opportunity to come explore the state-of-the-art facility, as well as test out the gym, track, indoor playground, and fieldhouse for the first time. Drop-in rates will be $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+) and youth (8-17), $3 for children, and $12 for families. Monthly and annual passes will also be available for purchase.
Finally, Twisted Steel Fitness Centre will be moving to its new location on the second floor of the recreation center, and will also open for business on June 17th.
“Originally, the plan was to soft open on June 3, but due to delays in construction we’ve had to push that back by two weeks” said Russ Tanner, Director of Community Services for the Town of Coaldale. “Thankfully, construction is nearing completion, so we’re happy to announce that as of Monday June 17th, the facility will be open to the public”.
The official grand opening of the Shift Recreation Centre will take place on July 3 in conjunction with the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Southern Alberta Summer Games. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12pm, and more details will be announced in the coming weeks.
