Working group and administration to collaborate on skate park exploration
--
The Town of Coaldale has developed a public engagement plan to explore the possibility of constructing a new skate park or revitalizing the existing skate park in Coaldale. The Town will be collaborating with the Skate Park Working Group to develop a proposal to bring to Council for consideration.
“The idea of updating or building a skate park in Coaldale was put forward by the community during the mountain bike park project,” said Russ Tanner, Director of Recreation and Community Development. “There was a strong desire for more recreation-focused amenities in Coaldale; the skate park is another piece of the puzzle to developing amenities that are up-to-date, functional, and enjoyable for the whole community.”
The working group will begin meeting in early 2022.
“We look forward to initiating discussions with the working group in the new year,” said Tanner. “Our hope is to continue building on the success we’ve seen in the mountain bike park and make sure our recreational facilities cater to all members of the community. Exploring the option to have an upgraded skate park will keep Coaldale on track to becoming Southern Alberta’s recreational hub.”
