Canada's Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II, Dies at 96

It is with the heaviest of hearts that today we say goodbye to Canada’s longest-reigning Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Most Canadians have known no other Sovereign - and neither has the Town of Coaldale. Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne in 1952, the same year the Town of Coaldale was incorporated.

Her Majesty vowed to devote her life to the service of the Commonwealth and its people. We thank Queen Elizabeth II for honouring this vow and for a lifetime of service.

In memory of the Queen, flags at Town facilities will be lowered to half-mast for a period of 10 days, until September 19.
