Former fire chief remembered

George KingThe Town of Coaldale extends its deepest sympathy to family and friends of the late George King and to the firefighters who served with him through the decades. He served Coaldale for over 30 years. When he was hired in 1951 he was the lone public works employee for what was than the Village of Coaldale with 880 residents. He became a volunteer firefighter and served as fire chief for decades. He was also the town constable, ambulance attendant and dog catcher. Rest in Peace.
