Neighbourhood Open Park for Town Plan survey

The Town of Coaldale wants your opinion on growth and change in our community.

An optional children’s version of the survey, with a short drawing contest, will be available for children up to the age of 12. Children will still get to enjoy ice cream even if they don’t complete the survey.
One survey, one ice cream treat per person. Ice cream coupons are good for one free Dilly Bar or DQ ice cream sandwich at the event or can be redeemed at the store for Dilly Bar, DQ ice cream sandwich or a small soft serve cone.
Free ice cream coupons are available for the first 80 people who complete the Town Plan survey at each event.
Members of the community are encouraged to only attend the event date and time listed for their neighbourhood area as indicated on the map.

JOINT MULTI-USE RECREATION FACILITY/HIGH SCHOOL

Have you ever wondered how long it’s been since a new recreation facility was built in Coaldale?

How about a new school?

  • Jennie Emery Elementary School – 1994

The Town of Coaldale and Palliser Regional School Division have forwarded a proposal to the Provincial Government that could result in the construction and opening of the first new school in 25 years, and the first new recreation facility in 30+ years.

If you would like to know more about the multi-use recreation facility and school, please plan to attend the upcoming information sessions, which will be hosted by the Town of Coaldale.

When:             February 5 and 12, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Where:           The HUB (2107-13 Street, Coaldale)

What:             Both projects are in the early stages of development and information shared at the upcoming sessions will focus on the details of the site that has been chose, including how and why the site was identified as suitable for the two facilities.

Who:               The Town will be hosting the event and school division representatives will be in attendance to discuss the educational aspects of the projects.

Cannabis Survey Results:

The Town of Coaldale sought input from local residents on the regulation of non-medical cannabis sales in the community. The Federal government is in the process of legalizing the possession, consumption and retail sale of cannabis for non-medical uses. When this occurs, municipalities will need to ensure they have a clear plan for how they will manage retail cannabis sales in their communities.
