Coaldale's sustainability initiative started when Town Council saw the
need for an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan.
The ICSP was adopted Feb. 9, 2009 and contains a mixture of public
input, research and trend data, strategy and vision. The Vision:
Coaldale - A preferred community to live, work and play.
Pages 21 to 34 outline the description of success and assess current
reality, however the highlights of the ICSP are the sustainable actions.
Structured from the 'pillars' of sustainability, the 21 identified
action areas address one or more of each pillar: Culture, Society,
Economy, Environment.
May in Coaldale is Sustainability Month. Residents are challenged to do
something good for their family, their community and their environment.
