The Wise Choice

Our latest census shows that 6,943 people have made the “Wise Choice” of making Coaldale their preferred community to live, work and play!  Coaldale continues to experience continuous growth with a diversified choice of housing for all stages of home ownership.  Currently developments such as Cotton Wood Estates, Parkside Acres, Heritage Estates and The Seasons are underway.  As Coaldale continues to grow we hope to create a community that will allow citizens to call Coaldale home through each stage of their life.

Town Council continues to work on diversifying our tax base by encouraging new commercial and industrial enterprise.  Improvements to our industrial park are scheduled for 2009 and several serviced lots will be available.  The enhancements to the industrial park will also improve conditions for many of our existing businesses that have and will continue to contribute to the sustainability of Coaldale.  If you are thinking of starting up or expanding a business a “Wise Choice” would be Coaldale.

With the recent development and implementation of Coaldale’s Integrated Community Sustainability Plan our community has a number of actionable items to work on over the next several years.  Dimensions such as Culture, Social, Economic and Environment are considered within the items that will be addressed in our continuing quest to ensure the sustainability of Coaldale.

Over the next few months we encourage Coaldale residents to provide input as we develop our Recreational Master Plan.  Through citizen engagement, the Recreational Master Plan will guide Town Council in planning improvements or additions to recreational facilities within our community.

Attractions such as Alberta Birds of Prey Centre, Gem of the West Museum and Land-O-Lakes Golf and Country Club make Coaldale a “Wise Choice” for visitors to our community.
