Bill Chapman – Candidate for Council

It is an honor for me to serve my Community in many ways, including that of Town Councillor, first elected in 2007.

My wife Deb and I moved to Coaldale exactly twenty years ago, and we found a favorable community who opened your arms and have allowed us to contribute our time and energy.

In 2001, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Lethbridge.  I also served on the Board of Governors and the Senate during my term at University.

Our energy in Coaldale has been kept busy with many community groups, committees, and church commitments.  Along with Toastmasters, Rotary, and the Chamber of Commerce, I also focused on the Tower Clock project and of course the Murals in Coaldale.

Deb also contributes her time and commitment to the Coaldale Community Wellness Association, and Rehoboth Christian Ministries.

As the Town’s Representative, I am the President of the Highway 3 Twinning Development Association.

My goals for Coaldale continue for growth in recreation, downtown revitalization, industry, and a new school.  Council has already led the way setting aside “seed” money for recreation infrastructure purposes.

Coaldale is moving ahead quickly with a new RCMP Detachment, expansion of Birds of Prey wetlands, land annexation, trails.  My hope is that Council will focus on revitalization of our downtown as its new priority.

Together we can make Coaldale, “A great place to live, work, and play”!
